India Oct - Day 7
October 17, 2007 | 2:56 pm
Dinner recipe:
1 Chinese restaurant in India
1 German that lives in Germany that hitchhiked all over Europe in the 70's
1 German that lives in Russia that is an expert in making caustic remarks
1 Brit that feels he can tell the indians how India should be
1 Russian that can only say 'good' and 'bad' in english and his name in spanish
1 Thai that is like a little kid
1 Chinese pain
1 Me (the one that had to pay the bill)
You let everybody order their own stuff, so there's a lot of unknown food on the table as three of them couldn't really read the menu (they just pointed randomly). Then you start sharing your stuff with everybody, that way they share their stuff too and we all get to try diverse bad food.
After the appetizers somebody starts to ask 'how do you say 'good morning' in Thai?' then 'how do you say it in Russian?' etc etc, all very simple words, and then the German adds a few languages that he remembers from his hitchhiking and we all make fun of the Chinese pain that can get anything right. By the time the bill arrives we didn't even remember the food was bad. That was a good dinner.
