India Oct - Day 10 (yes, it is Day 10)

was it a gay bar?
This is my 6th time in India, but all the previous times were short trips (one week or less) therefore I never got to spend a weekend here, except one weekend but I had to work Saturday and Sunday so there wasn't that 'let's go drinking because we are not working tomorrow' feeling before. We felt that today... and so at 7:30 pm the Thai, the Brit, the German that lives in Germany and the Germany that lives in Russia (and, of course, myself) went to this place that has a pub in the down floor and a restaurant in the upper floor.
We opened the pub door and the music was very loud and I mean VERY loud so we went to the restaurant instead. We had dinner, a few drinks, lots of talk, it was fun. When we finished it was pouring outside, so we decided to go down to the pub and have another drink while the rain calmed down (we went walking because the hotel is 3 blocks from this place).
And there we go, slightly drunk the 5 of us, just slightly, find a table in the loud bar, sit down, order more drinks and then look around... oh my god.
Medium size bar, 100 people or so, quite full, some screens with the cricket match, most tables had 5 to 10 costumers and they were all men. ALL. I mean ALL. Except two other women. At least they looked like women, they could have been Lady Boys according to the Thai. Needless to say the 5 of us were looking around, mouths open, eyes wide in disbelieve. Were we at a gay bar? what were the odds?
Every time the Indian team scored (which is quite freaking frequent at a cricket match) the guys at the bar would jump and dance and go 'wooo wooo' and hug each other. Quite... suspicious. But then you think that here in India it's not 'good' for women to do many things, like going out at night to bars. So... is this how guys in India have fun? They were doing gayish stuff for other cultures standards but the didn't look gayish. Very very confusing.
But then, like half an hour later, when it was still raining but we had finished our drinks, a guy approaches the brit, who was sitting next to me. They talked a few minutes, I couldn't catch a word. Right after the brit says 'let's get the bill and leave' so we say ok though is still raining. I think we were all thinking the guy had made him an 'offer'. When we are outside I had to ask (kidding, of course) 'so? didn't you like him?' and the brit said 'you think that was about me? I had to say I'm your boyfriend, he was asking for permission to talk to you'.
Freaking weird. We walked to the hotel under the rain laughing our heads off. Incredible India.
