When the gravy train pulled out of town
The bankers were caught, with their trousers down
With a finger stuck deep in every pie
And crocodile tears falling from their eyes
They called in loans, shut the companies down
Boarded up windows and moved out of town
They said “it’s not our fault you lost your home ..
We’ve run out of cash, we need a government loan”

So the politicians gave the banks their loans
They bailed them out to save their own
When the going gets tough, the greedy get going
They’re not waiting on the seeds they’re sowing
They’ll walk away, with heads held high
With smug little smiles and a golden goodbye
We know the score; we know what’s going to happen
The poor get poorer while the rich are laughin’
