Why upload the most over-covered song this side of (Stairway to) heaven? Because this old Farmageddon cover of the Bob Dylan classic keeps haunting me. (Sorry, Zimmy!)

The band was split on whether to do this, we weren't even a cover band. But we did, and for me personally, I recall hitting a rare emotional peak playing it. It might have been the audience response or the tone of my still-new Hofner archtop, but ... it's a personal favorite.

Recorded Saturday, July 5, 2003, Red Line Tap, Chicago. Recording done using a small one-piece stereo mic and a handheld Sony minidisk. No further mixing or EQ done to this.

FARMAGEDDON at this stage of the game was:
Bruce Bowers: lead vox, Taylor acoustic guitar, cowboy hat
Mark Lopiccolo: bass, vox
Mike C.: drums (1st drummer, prior to his spontaneous combustion)
Bob "6" Sperber: Hofner Jazzica archtop, bkg vox, overalls
AUDIENCE: bkg vox.

What do you think? The band never did this song before or since, but this one couldn't be worse than the emetic Guns N Roses version... right?

NEWS: On Aug. 30, 2007, band bassist FarmerMark joined iC.
